I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
